 Air Travel in Germany
There is an extensive domestic flight network operated by the national airline, Lufthansa. All of the major cities are interlinked by scheduled flights as well as, in some cases, Lufthansa's rail network. For more information, contact Lufthansa.

Major airports in Germany include Munich Franz Josef Strauss airport and Frankfurt Rhein/Main airport - the latter being the busiest airport in the whole of Europe. Berlin has a smaller international airport, Tegel.

 Travel by Road in Germany
All motorways are toll-free.

A speed of between 100-130km per hour is recommended on the autobahnen, while cities and country roads have legal speed limits of 50km per hour and 80-100km per hour respectively.

You will need to bring your own national driving licence if planning to drive while in Germany. You must carry your driving licence and vehicle documents with you at all times.

The minimum driving age is 18.

Driving is on the right and you must overtake on the left.

Seat belts must be worn by the driver and all passengers where fitted.

 Trains in Germany
Trains are by far the most efficient way of travelling around Germany. Germany's super-fast ICT and ICE trains provide quick national and international travel between most major cities in Germany and beyond. Deutsche Bahn operates an extensive nationwide network and offers numerous good value discount passes.
Timetable information and tickets can be obtained at travel centres at major stations, ticket offices at smaller stations and authorised Deutsche Bahn travel agents. Ticket and information counters at major stations are usually open between 06h00 and 22h00 every day.
